MV Agusta has announced two new colour schemes for its Superveloce 800, with the stunning neo-retro middleweight now available in Ago Red and Ago Silver and Metallic Carbon Black and Dark Metallic Matt Grey.
MV Agusta says the red/silver scheme is in part a tribute to the racer who achieved so many GP victories for the historic brand through the 1960s and '70s, Giacomo Agostini, with the model's gold wheels and frame details "inspired by the thoroughbred Italian racing machines from the past".
The sinister-looking black scheme, meanwhile, "provides a sophisticated and sober feel synonymous with the Formula 1 racing of the '70s, to provide a rich yet restrained alternative to the corporate MV Agusta colours".

COVID-19: MV Agusta halts production
MV Agusta has just restarted production at its Schiranna base following the easing COVID-10 restrictions in northern Italy. The company says it's received "unprecedented requests" for the Superveloce 800, the interest triggering a re-evaluation of the model's colour options.
"Following the presentation of the Superveloce 800 in Milano, we took on board feedback from both the public and importers and decided to create two colour schemes, both with a gold-finish frame, that accentuate the neo-retro theme, highlight the curvaceous styling and align the models to our brand values," said Adrian Morton, Design Director at MV Agusta's Research Center CRC.
We don't know if the Ago paint will make it go faster, but it sure looks a treat!
