While he’s more accustomed to kicking goals for Carlton than hot laps around Phillip Island, the recently appointed Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix Ambassador, Matthew Kreuzer, says his passion for MotoGP runs deep.
“MotoGP and AFL have always been two of the biggest passions in my life,” said the 23-year-old. “As a youngster I was always begging my Dad to take me to the Australian MotoGP and as a family we would have easily been to 10 of the World Championship races at the Island,” he added.
The versatile ruckman and key forward will be previewing each round of the 2013 MotoGP Championship on radio station Triple M’s ‘Hot Breakfast’ programme in the lead-up to the Australia round of the championship, which will be held at Phillip Island over October 18-20.
“I was pumped to be asked to be the Australian MotoGP Ambassador,” said Kreuzer. “I look forward to sharing my race previews across the MotoGP World Championship season this year with Triple M Hot Breakfast listeners,” he added.
The Australian Grand Prix Corporation’s CEO, Andrew Westacott, said Kreuzer was an enthusiastic addition to the AGPC team. “While he’s a bit bigger than the likes of Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez, we are thrilled to kick off the new era of MotoGP with Matthew Kreuzer as our first-ever AFL Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix Ambassador,” he said.
“Kreuzer is a passionate MotoGP fan and his genuine knowledge of the sport is second to none,” he added.
