2026 Indian Chief Vintage revealed

Indian's latest model is a throwback to the iconic Chief of the 1940s

Indian Motorcycle has taken a trip back to the 1940s with its latest offering.

The American brand is celebrating its 125th anniversary with a new heritage-inspired model called the 2026 Indian Chief Vintage.

Based on the current Chief platform, but taking design cues from the 1940s Chief, the new Chief Vintage is set to land in Australia mid-2026 with a price tag of $31,995 ride away.

Indian has designed the Chief Vintage to look “as though it rolled straight off the original Springfield, Massachusetts, production line” in the 1940s.

“The Indian Chief from the 1940s remains one of the most recognisable  and celebrated models in American history,” said Indian’s Design Director, Ola Stenegärd.

“With its iconic V-Twin engine, valanced fenders, and unparalleled reliability, the Chief set a standard for performance and design that resonates today.”

Underneath the classic looks, the 2026 Chief Vintage is packed with modern features including the popular Thunderstroke 116 V-twin engine, a full electronics suite, and a round touchscreen display with smartphone connectivity.

Indian Motorcycles Australia says it will land on local dealer floors in "Q2-Q3 of 2026".
