As the MA-promoted Broadford Bike Bonanza remains on pause, a different event promises to thrill and delight aficionados of classic hardware this Easter at the Bonanza’s spiritual home, the Broadford State Motorcycle Sports Complex.

The 2024 Shannons Classic Bike Broadford event will be held at the Victorian circuit from March 29 to 31, and promises to be an extravaganza of vintage, veteran and classic two-wheeled favourites.
“Following our successful promotion of the event last year, we’re back again this year to ensure the enthusiasm and spirit of the event is kept alive,” said co-promoter Rachelle Pettifer. “The event is an annual highlight for retired competitors, collectors, modern-day racers, and their friends and families.
“There’s something for everyone, as we run track sessions across multiple classes and disciplines. The event also creates a great opportunity for a lot of bench racing, catching up with mates from old-school race days, and maybe having a ride or two.”

The tarmac circuit will host pre-1998 road and race bikes and sidecars, while the dirt and speedway tracks will see classic (pre-1998) and modern bikes strut their stuff.
The Broadford complex offers up a smorgasbord to top vantage points for spectators, who are in the gates for free. Camping costs just $10 per night, there’s on-site catering, and there’s live entertainment lined up to belt out the classic hits on the Saturday night.
So dust off the leathers, shine up that pride and joy, and block out Easter for three days of classic-bike indulgence.
The Broadford State Motorcycle Complex is located at 260 Strath Creek Road, Broadford – approximately 70km north of Melbourne. For more information, including classes and entry fees, contact Rachelle Pettifer via email at rachelle240871@gmail.com or call 0408 652 877.
