Boutique Italian manufacturer MV Agusta has pulled the covers off its new 2022 MV Agusta F3 RR, the stunning model serving as a new flagship for the brand’s 800cc in-line triple-powered F3 supersports line-up.
Coming just four months after the addition of the F3 800 Rosso, which serves as an entry point to the F3 range, the F3 RR takes performance and MV’s painstaking attention to detail to new heights, with the company describing the new model as “the pinnacle of performance, ?tting and technological evolution”.

The 2022 MV Agusta F3 RR is powered by a Euro 5-compliant 798cc in-line three-cylinder engine, which now runs new valve guides and tappets with a DLC (diamond-like carbon) coating for lower internal friction. Also featuring ultra-lightweight titanium valves, the engine now has an all-new exhaust system said to enhance its power and torque curves throughout the rev range.
MV claims the engine is good for a maximum output of 147hp (108kW) at 13,000rpm and 88Nm at 10,100rpm, with the former boosted to 155hp (114kW) with an optional racing kit.
The engine mapping has been updated while a new ‘dual-flow’ oil radiator has delivered better cooling efficiency, and the clutch has an improved and reinforced hub for quieter operation. Like several other recently updated MV Agusta models, the F3 RR also scores the latest generation of the brand’s EAS 3.0 bi-directional quickshifter, with its updated sensor delivering faster, smoother gear shifts.
Meanwhile redesigned frame plates are said to increase the F3’s torsional and longitudinal rigidity, while the 43mm inverted Marzocchi fork and Sachs rear monoshock – both fully adjustable – feature revised settings to match the chassis update. And the rear rim now benefits from a new casting process that has resulted in a weight reduction of seven percent, reducing the bike’s unsprung mass.
Further wind tunnel work has resulted in the addition of some new forged carbon elements that, along with the new (higher) windshield, new front guard, and new carbon side fairing panels, result in less aerodynamic drag while increasing front-end downforce for even more confidence-inspiring handling.
The footpegs have also been redesigned, and are said to offer more grip, while there’s a new high-grip seat cover too.
Finally, the MV Agusta F3 RR also sports the latest in electronics and rider assistance systems. Featuring a new 5.5-inch TFT instrument display with Bluetooth connectivity (affording additional features like call management and turn-by-turn navigation via the MVRide smartphone app), the arrival of a new six-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU) brings next-level safety with corning ABS and traction control, along with Front Lift Control and Launch Control.
And finally, for those looking for the ultimate experience from the MV Agusta F3 RR, an optional racing kit comprises an array of CNC-machined components (including fuel cap, brake and clutch levers), a single seat unit, and a road-compliant Akrapovic titanium exhaust with dedicated ECU. In addition to boosting power from 147hp to 155hp, the kit also reduces the bike’s dry weight from 173kg to just 165kg.
“Whether it is a matter of mechanics, chassis or aerodynamics, every single detail of the MV Agusta F3 RR has been conceived to offer class-leading performance,” says MV Agusta.
The MV Agusta F3 RR will be available in Surreal White Gloss/Mamba Red Gloss or Fire Red Matt/Metallic Dark Grey Matt. Local MV Agusta importer and distributor, Urban Moto Imports, says we can expect the new model to reach Australian showrooms around New Year, with local pricing to be confirmed closer to that time.
At present, the MV Agusta F3 range tops out with the F3 800 RC, priced at $33,590 ride away.
