2022 Indian FTR line-up adds more sporting performance

Indian has added more sporting punch to the popular FTR range for MY22

Indian Motorcycle has released details about its 2022 FTR line-up, which has been enhanced both internally and externally for a sportier look and feel.

The popular FTR platform arrived in 2019, marking a change of direction for America’s First Motorcycle Company. The flat track-inspired machine was introduced as a street version of the company’s FTR750 race bike.

For MY22, Indian has revised the FTR platform with the engine and suspension tuned for optimal street performance, and the addition of 17-inch wheels and Metzeler Sportec tires, and a lower seat height for improved handling and a more compact feel.

With a unique neo-retro style inspired by Indian’s American heritage, the FTR also includes a suite of electronics and rider aids, with a 4.3-inch digital touch screen display.

At the heart of the FTR platform is the 1203cc liquid-cooled V-twin engine that produces 120hp and 120Nm of torque.

The standard 2022 Indian FTR

The 2022 FTR comes in three distinct versions – the standard FTR, the FTR S and the FTR R Carbon. The standard FTR starts at just $19,995 ride away, but forgoes the aforementioned touch screen display for an analogue set-up. It is available in Black Smoke with red accents through it.

Meanwhile, the FTR S starts at $22,995, and for the extra dollars you get the 4.3-inch dash with phone integration via USB or Bluetooth. Also standard on the S model is an upgrade Akrapovic exhaust, three ride modes, wheelie control, stability control, traction control and cornering ABS.

The 2022 Indian FTR S model

Sitting at the top of the lineup with a price tag of $22,995 ride away, the FTR R Carbon features everything on the S model, but adds carbon fibre tank covers, front fender and headlight nacelle, as well as fully-adjustable Ohlins gold front forks and gold piggyback shock. It also features a black Akrapovic exhaust, premium seat cover and numbered badge on the console.

The full 2022 Indian FTR line-up is expected to arrive in Australian dealerships in the second quarter of 2021.
