Suzuki GSX-S1000GT is 2022 People's Choice
Featuring a 659cc parallel-twin engine, long-travel suspension, Brembo brakes, and a full suite of electronics, the Aprilia Tuareg 660 is a capable and versatile adventure tourer with exceptional off-road ability.
“The Tuareg is the definition of a great all-rounder,” said bikesales Editor, Dylan Ruddy. “It is fun and easy to ride on the road, and has an off-road capability that is almost unmatched in the adventure touring segment.”
Also earning awards were the Yamaha XSR900 neo-retro roadster, and the Triumph Tiger 1200 Rally Pro, both of which were given Highly Commended gongs in the 2022 Bike of the Year.
The general public also voted for their favourite machine from 10 Bike of the Year finalists, with the Suzuki GSX-S1000GT claiming the People’s Choice prize.
One more award is still to be handed out, with the second annual bikesales Learner Bike of the Year set to be revealed on December 15.
The bikesales Bike of the Year sees an expert team of judges select a diverse field of 10 finalists, before putting those machines through a week-long road test in the Victorian High Country.
From there, the judges vote for a winner and two Highly Commended machines. The 2022 team of judges included Ruddy, former bikesales Editor Mark Fattore, TV presenter Kate Peck, and bikesales contributing journalists Cam Donald and Kaz Anderson.
