MV Agusta has announced an update for its 2021 MV Agusta Brutale 1000 RR, with the 300km/h naked rocket sporting a revised – now Euro 5 compliant – 998cc in-line four-cylinder engine, updated electronics, and a range of other tweaks.
Producing a claimed 208hp at 13,000rpm and 116.5Nm at 11,000rpm in a package weighing just 186kg (dry), MV Agusta says the bike’s potent powerplant features a number of changes to reduce internal friction and enhance durability, while still complying with Europe’s latest emissions legislation.
The engine features new sintered valve guides and a DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating on its tappets, along with revised cam profiles to optimise the torque curve through low to medium engine speeds.
The exhaust manifold is new and the primary drive gearing has been changed, while the EAS 3.0 electronic transmission has been strengthened and features a new sensor for more precise shifts.
The chromoly tubular steel trellis frame is said to feature “a few targeted structural updates”, but MV stops short of mentioning specifics. It does say, however, that the electronic Öhlins suspension set-up has revised settings, front and rear.
The bike’s handling, dynamics and stability are further aided by ultra-lightweight forged wheels and an Öhlins electronic steering damper, while the new forged footpegs have been redesigned to offer extra grip.

The model rolls on sticky Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tyres; a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) is available as an optional accessory.
The styling carries over from the previous model, with this premium machine boasting a high-end finish and numerous carbon fibre elements to complement its lustrous paint.
MV Agusta pitches this model as an exquisite example of rolling ‘motorcycle art’, and it has released a suitably ‘theatrical’ promo video befitting the updated bike’s stage debut. Watch the clip and you’ll see what we mean!
