A feline-inspired lighting layout and 37mm front forks are the headline changes to the MY20 Yamaha MT-03.
The “hyper naked” MT range launched in 2013 and has quickly become a core model for Yamaha thanks to its mix of looks and performance.
The 321cc parallel-twin engine in the MT-03 has been widely praised for its smoothness and the MY20 updates largely improve the machine's looks and ride.

The instrument panel is a new LCD unit with multiple displays and the face features dual slant-eye position lights positioned above a compact LED headlamp to give the bike what Yamaha describes as a predatory look.
An asymmetric swingarm makes its debut on the MT-03 and is claimed to reduce the variance in the bike’s angle with the road to improve control during acceleration, cornering and braking.
The upgraded MT-03 will go on sale locally in the first half of 2020, with pricing yet to be finalised but not expected to be much higher than the current $5799 plus on-road costs.
