Triumph’s premium sporty naked bike, the Triumph Street Triple RS, has been updated for 2020, highlighted by an perkier in-line triple developed by the team behind its successful Moto2 collaboration.
Announced in conjunction with an updated learner-approved Street Triple 660, the Triumph Street Triple RS – which will go on sale in Australia in December 2019 – now produces 79Nm of torque compared to 77Nm for the superseded model, with the peak also arriving about 1450rpm earlier – adding even more flexibility into the occasion.
Meanwhile, power remains at 123hp with a slightly higher rpm ceiling (11,750rpm).
Triumph says both power and torque are nine per cent higher in the mid-range – so increasing the sweet spot for the majority of road riders.
• A freer-flowing silencer finished off with a carbon fibre end cap;
• Twin LED headlights (with daytime running lights);
• More angular bodywork, as well as a new flyscreen and air intake;
• Enhanced TFT functionality including GoPro interaction, turn-by-turn navigation and music/phone operation;
• The company’s bi-directional quickshifter is now standard;
• Revised gearbox;
• A new titanium silver main frame, matching the finish used on the Speed Triple models;
• A new colour-coded seat cowl and belly pan;
• The pillion seat s higher; and
• Updated riding modes: Road, Rain, Sport, Track, and Rider configurable.
The 2020 Triumph Street Triple RS has as interchangeable seat cowl and pillion seat, slip assist clutch, Brembo M50 brakes, Ohlins suspension and Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP V3 tyres.
