Suzuki’s reintroduced Katana, based on the firm’s GSX-S1000 naked, will go on sale in Australia for $18,990 rideaway.
Deposits are now being taken for the 2020-branded machine and, with expected high demand and only limited supply, Suzuki Australia will take orders exclusively online – with the first 50 people pre-ordering to receive a bonus Katana-themed Arai QV-Pro helmet valued at $995.
Two liveries will be offered – either silver or black – and the Katana’s expected to arrive in Australia by September 2019. The machine is currently being launched in Japan.
The Katana uses a retuned version of Suzuki’s GSX-R1000 long-stroke K5 engine good for a claimed 150hp (110kW) set within a twin-spar alloy frame.
