The versatility and accessibility of the Triumph Street Triple middleweight has always been its calling card, and that message has been reaffirmed with the British company announcing two updated 2020 models: the range-topping Triumph Street Triple RS and the learner-approved Triumph Street Triple 660 LAMS.
The Triumph Street Triple 660 LAMS, which last received an update in 2017, now has new styling and a higher level of specification while maintaining the 660cc inline triple configuration producing 53.2hp and a 61Nm peak at a low 6000rpm.
The Triumph Street Triple 660 LAMS has new twin LED headlights, new bodywork, restyled mirrors and two riding modes (Road and Rain) and variable traction control selectable via the LCD instruments. Brakes are a combo of Nissin (front) and Brembo (rear), stopping the Pirelli Diablo Rosso-shod cast aluminium-alloy wheels. Dry weight is 168kg.
The Triumph Street Triple 660 LAMS is available in Crystal White, with Diablo Red and Black decals, black tank badges and a textured black rear sub-frame.
The machine will go on sale in Australia December 2019, with price still to be announced.
