A new 150cc two-stroke, big improvements on the four-cylinder models and improved suspension mark the launch of KTM’s seven-version 2020 enduro line-up.
The KTM 150 EXC TPI joins the existing 250cc and 300cc two-strokes, which now have machined exhaust ports and a reworked ECU with an ambient air-pressure sensor to adapt to rapid changes in altitude.
The four-stroke range runs from the 250 EXC-F to 350, 450 and 500cc versions. A major rework on the cylinder head improves combustion efficiency as well as trimming weight by up to 500 grams.
The absence of a kick-start is a notable exclusion on the 2020 range. KTM says there is no standard unit, nor an option to fit one.
All EXC versions now use an updated version of the WP XPLOR suspension, with the front forks now using a mid-valve piston to boost damping.
KTM says the frame is stiffer, the seat more supportive, the airbox flow improved and the centre of gravity has been lowered.
Standard gear across the range includes quality components such as Brembo brakes, Neken handlebars, No-Dirt footpegs and Giant rims.
Top-spec EXC versions are sold in “Six Day” guise and are fitted with KTM’s high-performance accessories, including a three-stage preload adjustment for the WP forks.
KTM is also selling a limited-edition 300 EXC TPI Erzbergrodeo variant, limited to 500 machines.
The bike has been built to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Austrian extreme endure event and boasts the likes of, along with bespoke graphics.
No word yet on Aussie availability or pricing, but based on precedent we should be seeing them around August/September 2019.
