The Honda CBR1000RR-R SP Fireblade has landed on dealer floors across Australia. Tongue-twisting name aside, the brand-new machine is designed to offer unprecedented performance and control, with a strong focus on track use.
Available in HRC-inspired Grand Prix Red or Matte Pearl Black, the Honda CBR1000RR-R SP will be the only Fireblade variant offered to the Australian market. It carries an eye-watering price tag of $49,999 (plus ORC).

Drawing inspiration from the RC213V-S, the 1000cc inline four-cylinder engine that powers the CBR1000RR-R SP puts out a claimed 215hp at 14,500rpm and 113Nm at 12,500rpm. Honda and HRC engineers started with a blank canvas, creating the all-new engine with cues taken from the HRC MotoGP machine.
The new bike also features a comprehensive electronics package that features options for Power, Engine Brake, Wheelie Control and Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC). There is also an adjustable Start Mode.
Honda has also added a completely new diamond frame that uses the rear of the engine as the upper shock mount, while the swing arm is longer and based on the RC213V-S design.
For suspension, a new 43mm Ohlins NPX front fork replaces the NIX fork of the previous model, while the second-generation Ohlins Object Based Tuning interface offers finer control of settings front and rear. Also featured is larger front discs and new Brembo Stylema four-piston calipers, as well as adjustable ABS for track riding.
Other features include a six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit, a Honda Electronic Steering Damper, fully-customisable 5-inch TFT display and Honda Smart Key.
