2019 Rocket 3 Triumph Factory Custom
The world’s biggest production engine – need we say any more…Triumph’s limited-edition line-up of ultra-premium motorcycles under the new Triumph Factory Custom (TFC) banner has ramped up with the unveiling of the Triumph Rocket 3 TFC.
Like the Thruxton TFC, just 750 examples will be made of the machine, which at 2458cc is the world’s biggest motorcycle production engine producing a mouth-watering 221Nm of torque and more than 170hp.
That’s the same amount of torque as the 2294cc in-line triple in the original Rocket 3 – which dates back to 2004 – but there’s more zip at the top end: peak power was previously 148hp!
The new Rocket 3 TFC is also about 40kg lighter than the previous Rocket (so a dry weight of around 325kg), with weight savings from an aluminium frame and swingarm, carbon fibre bodywork and light-weight braking components.
The Rocket 3 TFT has top-spec Brembo Stylema brakes, 47mm upside-down Showa forks and a fully adjustable Showa monoshock with piggy back reservoir.
The British machine – which is described as "the ultimate motorcycle with world-beating performance, cutting-edge technology, muscular presence and unique engineering innovations" – is also equipped with tailor-made Arrow silencers, twin LED headlights, cast aluminium wheels, full-colour TFT instruments with connectivity, cornering ABS and traction control, four riding modes, a quickshifter and hill hold control.
And there’s more, including cruise control, a keyless ignition, tyre pressure monitoring and a USB charging socket, while there’s an interchangeable ‘twin or single’ seat set-up – in real leather of course...
Twenty-five units of the Rocket 3 TFC will make it to Australia by November 2019 – and they are already accounted for.
