The latest incarnation of Kawasaki’s W800 has landed with modern performance wrapped in a traditional café racer look.

An LED headlight, disc brakes with ABS and a slipper clutch provide modern safety and convenience, while the 18-inch wire wheels, pea-shooter exhausts and retro front cowl invoke the style of a classic bike.

The W800’s “metallic magnesium gray /galaxy silver” paintjob, M-shaped clubman-style handlebar and two tone seat complete the heritage attire.

The new dual-cradle chassis is said to improve stability and responsiveness, helping deliver the program objective of building “a rider-friendly machine with easy handling and good stability on the highway”.
Suspension is catered for with a set of 41mm forks up front and dual rear shocks with preload adjustment

The air-cooled 773cc parallel twin engine is good for 47hp (35kW) and 63Nm, fed through a five-speed gearbox.
The W800 is priced at $13,999 plus on-road costs.
