Teased by the British brand for some time, Triumph used the 2019 EICMA motorcycle expo to unveil a 1200cc Thruxton RS, alongside some special-edition variants of existing models.
Powered by the updated 1200cc so-called high power engine, the 2020 model year sees a seven horsepower increase over the existing parallel-twin unit, taking it to a peak output of 103hp. The peak torque of 112Nm also chimes in 700rpm earlier, at 4250rpm.
Replacing the Thruxton R as the top-tier Thruxton model, the RS will employ Brembo M50 radial Monobloc calipers and fully adjustable Öhlins twin rear shocks to brake and suspend a package that is overall 6kg lighter than its predecessor.
It comes with a single seat as standard, but an optional pillion perch will be offered in the catalogue of over 80 accessories. Triumph also used the Milan event to name the Bonneville Bobber as the third machine to benefit from the firm’s Triumph Factory Custom (TFC) treatment, of which just 750 examples will be produced.

Boasting 13 percent more power than the both the base-model Bobber and the Bobber Black, as well as slightly more torque, the TFC version gains carbon-fibre bodywork, billet machined yokes, a leather seat alongside a swag of other premium finishes and detailing, including a numbered plaque denoting its rarity.
The Bobber TFC will sit alongside the previously announced Thruxton and Rocket 3 TFC models.
The third announcement from the British marque is that the Bonneville T120 and T100 will both be offered in Bud Ekins commemorative editions for the 2020 model year.
Top off-road racer of the 1960s and Hollywood stuntman, Ekins is most famous for performing the jump on behalf of good mate Steve McQueen in the 1963 war film The Great Escape.
Both machines will come with a Monza-style filler cap, diamon-knurled grip and mirrors, a commemorative two-tone paint scheme, dedicated logos and branding, as well as a certificate of authenticity.
There’s no word as yet as to pricing or when they might be available here on Aussie shores.
