KTM has unveiled an adventure bike based around its 390 platform at this year’s EICMA motorcycle expo in Milan.
Powered by the same 373cc engine (43hp/37Nm), slipper clutch and gearbox as used in the firm’s naked Duke and fully faired RC 390 variants, the newly-added Adventure gains higher-spec suspension and a larger 19-inch wheel to cope with the off-road conditions it’s designed for.
Using the KTM-owned WP APEX fork and rear monoshock, the learner-approved machine offers would be owners compression and rebound adjustability at the front, with preload and rebound adjustability at the rear. It results in decent travel, too, of 170mm up front and 177mm at the rear.
The trellis-style chassis and ByBre braking package – a four-piston caliper biting a 320mm single front disc set-up – also remains unchanged from the 390 platform.
It employs a 15.5-litre tank which is conventionally mounted on top of the engine, rather than the pair of low-slung vessels flanking the engine on the firm’s 790 Adventure.
KTM claims a dry weight of just 158kg, a seat height of a tall-for-a-LAMS-bike 855mm and 200mm of ground clearance.
