Benelli used the EICMA show in Milan to debut its 754cc parallel-twin engine, using both a standard and Trail variant of the firm’s Leoncino as the host.
Both machines will join the line-up in the 2020 model year, benefitting from higher-spec componentry than we’re accustomed to from the QJ-owned brand. A 50mm Marzocchi upside-down fork will look after the front suspension duties, while a pair of radial-mounted Brembo calipers will handle the stopping duties.

Both machines employ an underslung exhaust system. The standard machine has a low, side-mounted silencer, while the Trail’s exhaust routes up to a twin-outlet high-mounted affair. The base model uses a pair of 17-inch wheels, while the Trail’s 19-inch front and block-pattern knobby tyres point to its all-roads intentions.
Said to be good for 82hp, the engine is likely to spawn a range of 800cc TRK adventure machines, and maybe even making its way into the firm’s newly release Cruiser platform.
Australian pricing or when the bikes are likely to hit our shores is still yet to be announced.
