The 2018 SWM Superdual X will go on sale in late December 2017, sporting a 21/18-inch wheel combination fitted with Metzeler Sahara 3 tyres.
The X will be the first of two Superduals to go on sale locally in 2018, with the T following in January 2018 with 19/17-inch wheels mated to Metzeler Tourance tyres.
Both models have switchable ABS, and are available in either full power mode or LAMS approved. They share a 600cc single-cylinder fuel-injected engine, which puts them in a similar category to the Kawasaki KLR650 and, to a lesser extent, the air-cooled DRE650SE.
There’s a 45mm upside-down fork with 210mm of travel, and Sachs shock with 270mm of travel and a remote preload adjuster. The seat height is 890mm, and fuel capacity is 19 litres.
Standard features include hand guards, windscreen, aluminium skid plate, engine and tank crash bars, centre stand and rear carry rack, and there’s also provision for 12-volt socket outlet beneath the digital speedo display.
Price is $10,490 (plus on-road costs) for the X and T.
“The arrival of the Superdual X marks an exciting new time for SWM in Australia,” said SWM’s Stephen Tuff. “Hardcore adventure riders interested in the Superdual have been waiting for 21/18-inch wheel combination.
“We fielded a massive amount of enquiry and subsequent orders for the 2018 Superdual models from the recent Sydney Motorcycle Show. With plenty of orders in already and healthy numbers arriving into the country in the coming weeks we expect the 2018 Superdual models to be hitting the backroads, highways and dirt tracks across the country in record numbers.”
To mark the introduction of the 2018 Superdual, SWM is offering a GT Kit that includes panniers and driving lights valued at a recommended retail price of $1500. This offer will run from January 1 to March 31, 2018.
