Honda has finally announced details of the new-generation Goldwing in simultaneous global announcements, with new features such as double wishbone suspension, an updated horizontally opposed six-cylinder Unicam engine with ride-by-wire, riding modes, tyre pressure monitoring, traction control and electronic suspension.
The premium touring goliath will go on sale locally in February 2018 in three variants: Goldwing, Goldwing Tour and Goldwing Tour Premium. Price is yet to be announced.

The Goldwing and Goldwing Tour Premium offer a third-generation seven-speed DCT (Dual-Clutch Transmission) system with walking mode (forward and reverse) and switchable idling stop. The Goldwing Tour has a six-speed manual transmission and slipper clutch.
The Goldwing Tour Premium has an airbag, arm rests, while both Goldwing Tour models have traction control and electronic suspension.
All three variants have tyre pressure monitoring. The Goldwing Tour and Goldwing Tour Premium display a numerical value, whereas the Goldwing will only display when pressure is low.
Apple CarPlay is available across the board, enabling access to a wide-range of information.
Other features include ABS, an electric windscreen, LED head lights and tail lights, a smart key, heated grips and, for the Goldwing Tour and Goldwing Tour, heated seats.
On the chassis side, a twin-spar aluminum frame is matched to a single-sided swingarm with new pivot-area structure. Together, the frame and swingarm contribute to a 2kg weight reduction.
Suspension is comprised of a new double-wishbone front and Showa shock absorbers front and rear. Brakes have been upgraded via radially mounted front calipers and larger, 320mm rotors.
