The Monster 821 now adopts a similar design to the Monster 1200, which includes a completely redesigned tank and tail end.
A new silencer and headlight are also part of the new design, while the mid-size Monster now has a colour TFT display. A two-way quickshifter and multimedia system are now available as accessories.

The liquid-cooled twin cylinder Testastretta produces 109hp and 86Nm, and the Monster 821 features the Ducati Safety Pack, which comprises Bosch ABS and traction control – both of which have adjustable intervention levels.
The bike has Brembo M4-32 monobloc radial calipers at the front, and the suspension includes a 43mm fork an adjustable shock absorber.
Colours are yellow, red and matte black, with Australian availability and pricing yet to be announced.
The new Monster 821 is just the first of the Ducati 2018 new range.
