Benelli’s burst of new model releases has continued with the TRK 502X adventure bike.
The X is based on the TRK 502, which Bikesales rode earlier this year at the local launch – and got the thumbs up as a very competent, accessible and manageable adventure bike for a relatively modest asking price ($8790 rideaway).
The X version is now on sale locally for $9390 rideaway, and Bikesales is heading to Pesaro in Italy to ride the TRK 502X, so standby for a full review and video in mid-August 2018.
We’re really looking forward to riding the X, which ditches the cast wheels from the standard TRK and adds more robust 19 and 17-inch spoked units. Understandably, and in the interests of ground clearance, the underslung muffler on the TRK 502 has been ditched in favour of a more conventional side-mounted design.
The seat height is 850mm, compared to 800mm on the TRK 502, while the wheelbase is 20mm shorter.
Power is from the feisty 48hp/46Nm 499cc parallel twin, which we’ve also sampled this year in the Leoncino sports naked. And there's further good news on the torque front, with the peak now chiming in earlier at 5000rpm (it’s 6000rpm on the TRK 502).
Dry weight is 213kg for a power-to-weight ratio of 0.2235hp/kg.
Colours are white, black or red. Contact your local Benelli dealer to book a test ride on the TRK 502X.
