2017 Yamaha R3 Cup prize pool

Over $20,000 up for grabs in the entry-level series

Yamaha Motor Australia has announced a $23,250 prize pool for competitors in the 2017 YMF/YMI R3 Cup, which will run in conjunction with the Australian Superbike Championship.

Entry-level riders who compete in the series will be rewarded right down to fifth place, while A-graders, international riders are not eligible to win any prizes – although they are welcome to race in the series.

Payments will be awarded on a race-by-race basis, but to be in the running for the overall contingencies riders must compete in at least four of the five rounds. All riders must display all series logos and run a Yamaha Racing patch on leathers in order to benefit from the prize pool payments, which are as follows:

The 2017 R3 Cup calendar is as follows:

  • Rd1, March 17-19, Wakefield Park Raceway, NSW
  • Rd2, April 28-30, Winton Motor Raceway, Vic
  • Rd3, August 25-27, Morgan Park Raceway, Qld
  • Rd4, September 8-10, Sydney Motorsport Park, NSW
  • Rd5, October 6-8, Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, Vic
