2017 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 on sale

Updates such as traction control and cornering anti-lock braking brought to the table

Kawasaki's 2017 Ninja 1000 is now available locally for $16,299 plus on-road costs, boasting a number of key updates.

An Inertia Measurement Unit (IMU) brings both traction control and cornering anti-lock braking to the table, while there's a new height-adjustable double-bubble windshield.

A revised rear shock and linkage has resulted in a lower seat height than the outgoing model (now 815mm), while other new fare includes brighter LED headlamps, wider fairings for increased wind protection, instruments, a 'clean-mount' pannier system and a five-way adjustable clutch lever.

The engine is largely unchanged, with enough ECU revisions to get it over the Euro 4 line.

Colours are candy lime green/metallic carbon grey or metallic spark black/metallic graphite grey.

Meanwhile, Kawasaki is now offering $1500 cash back on the 2016 Ninja 1000 ABS, which effectively reduces its price to $14,499 plus on-road costs.
