Honda's 2017 model Pioneer 1000-3 and Pioneer 1000-5 utility side-by-sides are now on sale, both featuring the Japanese company's dual clutch transmission which has "the performance and flexibility of a manual transmission with the convenience of an automatic".
The machines, powered by a 999cc parallel twin, now have a winch-ready wiring harness, a new memory function that retains the last transmission mode after engaging reverse, and thicker seat foam for increased comfort.
They also adapt a new seat belt interlock system which prompts drivers to wear their seatbelt when operating the machine – and if it's not engaged vehicle speed is limited.
Other features include a large LCD dash, disc brakes, a parking lock system and auto-levelling rear suspension that optimises rear ride height to suit different loads.
The Pioneer 1000-5 is the same as the Pioneer 1000-3 but adds Honda's 'QuickFlip' in-bed seating design that allows owners to switch from a three- to four-seater to five-seater in seconds – and without tools.
The Pioneer 1000-3 is priced at $23,499, and the Pioneer 1000-5 retails for $25,499.
