Yamaha has unveiled its updated WR450F enduro machine at day one of the 2015 Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix at Phillip Island.
Based on the latest YZ450F motocross bike and aimed at a wide array of riders, from racers to the recreational set, the WR450F utilises Yamaha’s reverse cylinder head and rearwards slanting cylinder for even more liner torque and greater mass centralisation. There is also a new fuel injection system, freshly designed electric starter (with a back-up kick start), and an optional power tuner to adjust the engine's power characteristics to suit the prevailing conditions.
Riders
have a choice of nine adjustments for the fuel and
ignition maps, and there is also a monitor function that allows the user
to adjust idle speed and see total engine running time. Powered
by two AA batteries, the palm-sized power tuner requires no downloading
prior to use, and is designed to plug straight in to the WR450F without
the need of a PC.
Price is $12,999 in Team Yamaha Blue and $13,100 in 60th anniversary yellow. The 2016 WR450F will be available from January 2016.
