The 2016 Snowy Ride will be held on Saturday, November 5, in the New South Wales alpine region. The annual event, which attracts riders from all over the country, has so far raised in excess of $6 million dollars for the Steven Walter Children's Cancer Foundation.
As well as paid-up participants and their pillions automatically receiving an entry into the event's major prize draw, riders who obtain a stamp at any three of the seven available checkpoints – Adaminaby, Dalgety, Berridale, Jindabyne, Cooma, Bombala or Charlotte Pass, including the final Thredbo checkpoint – by 4pm will also be in the running for the event's minor prize draw.
The major prize draw for the Honda-supported Snowy Ride, now in its 16th year, will see a brand-new Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin go to the winner, while the runner-up will receive a Honda CB500X (click here and here to read the Bikesales reviews of these models).
As well as the self-guided checkpoint ride, the annual 16km mass ride from Bullocks Flat to Thredbo, where riders and their pillions are encouraged to dress up, will leave Bullocks Flat at 4pm the same day.
Tickets are still available for the Friday night dinner, too, where $90 will get you dinner, drinks and an evening spent with Aussie racing legend Garry McCoy.
The evening will be held in the Kosciusko Room at Thredbo and will include an auction of motorcycle-related goods and memorabilia.
Registrations for the 2016 Snowy Ride have been open since July this year and will remain open right up until the day of the event.
