Thoroughly rejuvenated in late 2014, the 2016 KLR650 offers riders a more refinement in terms of comfort and suspension for the new model.
And for a limited time, Kawasaki is offering a free luggage kit valued at $700, with every new KLR650 purchased. Visit the Kawasaki website for more information.
Changes to the new models include the seat which is narrow at the front (between the rider’s thighs) and wide at the rear (at the rider’s derrière), delivering touring style comfort on long rides and better accommodating a wide range of riders.
The 41 mm fork was last upgraded in 2014 which included stronger springs, higher oil levels and stiffer damping settings (for stronger rebound damping) to better suit on-road riding situations as well as heavier loads, which contribute to increased ride comfort and improved handling.
At the rear, changes to the Uni-Trak and single-shock rear suspension include a stiffer spring rate and stronger rebound damping which better accommodates on-road riding and heavier loads. Kawasaki says that it all intended to the increase ride comfort and improve handling.
The rear of the seat is also taller than before, lining up nicely with the rear rack, so you can carry more gear.
