Indian Motorcycle is at it again, this time all set to release the revamped Dark Horse. Details are sketchy at the moment but, if you don’t like black, you might want to look at a Chief instead.
Everything on the Dark Horse is, well, dark. Black engine, body, seat, wheels, forks, it’s easily the most menacing looking bike in the rather classic looking Indian line up and will most likely be aimed at something like the Harley-Davidson Fat Boy.
What we do know is the solo-seat Dark Horse will be powered by the same 111ci (1811cc) Thunder Stroke V-twin mill from the Chief and the Chieftain, and the arrival of the Dark Horse continues Indian’s pledge it made back in 2013 to bring three new models per year to the market, as it joins the all-new Scout and Roadmaster.
The Dark Horse was originally manufactured from 2010-2013, and the new one treads a similar path but with the Thunder Stroke engine.
A five-mile 'Dark Horse Challenge' ride is being planned in Chicago on February 13 – the forecast temperature is -6 degrees… -- which will end with a "motorcycle launch event". Unless we're way off the mark, it'll be the Dark Horse, which is set to be released as a 2016 model.
No word yet on when the Dark Horse will be here in Australia, but if past Indian bikes are any indication, the model could be hard to spot as they race out the dealer doors…
