The Deus Biker Build-off "festival of fettlers" will be held at Bondi Pavilion in Sydney on Saturday, September 24, with the celebration of two-wheeled ingenuity to focus on four separate categories: open, professional, amateur race bike and Postie/Honda Cub/under 125cc.
Builders will have the chance to show off their labours of love and creativity, and from 9:00am until 5.30pm the bikes and bar will be open for one and all to enjoy.
The rules for the bikes, dubbed "solutions to problems you didn’t even know existed", are simple: the entry must run (ie kick over and idle) and be rideable, as well as displaying a level of creativity and ingenuity in design/function or construction.
A panel of five judges will assess the entries based on how well they have met the defined rules/criteria. On the day, stage one judging will narrow the entry field to 30 bikes that will go into the main round of judging. From here the field will be further shortened to just the top 10 bikes. Out of this group the judges will award the first, second and third regional winners. A people’s choice award will also be given out, which will be chosen by the punters.
While this is going on in Sydney, concurrent events will also be held on September 24 in Bali, Milan, Venice and Tokyo. Once all the global winners have been confirmed they will be posted to the global people's choice voting site to decide the overall global winner, which will be announced at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan in November.
