Yamaha's announced a new addition to its Sport Heritage range in the form of the XV950 Racer, with the inspiration for the design coming from 'El Ratón Asesino' -- a café racer produced by legendary German custom builder Marcus Walz.
However, don't get too excited: Yamaha Australia says the bike won't go on sale locally, but has confirmed the Bolt C-Spec (second image, green tank) is on its way and will go on sale shortly.
The XV950 Racer's sporty instincts are self-evident, stating with the aluminium clip-on handlebars which are positioned 156mm further forward and 78mm lower than on the XV950/R models, and also feature new switchgear and levers.
The rear-set footrests that are 150mm further to the rear and 29mm higher than those fitted to the XV950/R, and the Racer's slim new single seat is also 75mm higher.
There's a mini café racer cowling, aluminium side number plates, 12-spoke cast-alloy wheels, and piggyback-style gas rear shocks.
The 942cc air-cooled 60-degree V-twin produces 52hp at 5500rpm and 79Nm at 3000rpm.
As for the Bolt C-Spec, it has a sportier stance than the Bolt and Bolt R-Spec thanks to the 41mm KYB fork, longer rear shocks, more ride height and cornering lean and stickier tyres. Triumph's Thruxton is in its sights.
