It’s not an event for the weak of constitution. The torturous Wildwood Rock Extreme will be held on the weekend of November 14-15 near Sunbury (Vic), with British stars Ben and Dan Hemingway (both Beta) making up the international entries against a hot field of local talent.
Ben Hemingway finished second in last year's event behind three-time winner Graham Jarvis, and he'll be joined by five other riders who finished in the top 10 in 2014: Broc Grabham (Husqvarna), Robert Nowak (KTM), Chris Perry (KTM), Adrian Hurry (Husqvarna) and Paul Moncrieff (Husaberg). Multi-time Australian enduro champion and desert racing king Ben Grabham will also be chasing the $10K first prize, riding the KTM 350 Freeride — an enduro and moto trials hybrid.
Nowak, Perry and Moncrieff are all members of the Wildwood Rock motorcycle club, so they know in advance at what to expect from the course, which features rocks, hills, water holes, barrels and other ‘interesting’ objects that you would never dream about riding two wheels over.
The 2015 Wildwood Rock Extreme Enduro will commence at 9:00am with the prologue, and the three-hour race kicks off at 11:00am.
The location is 227 Feehans Road, Wildwood. Entry is $25 for adults ($30 for a two-day pass), $10 for ages 10-16 (two-day pass $15), and is free for under 10s.
