2015 Suzuki DR200S

An updated dual-sport from the Japanese manufacturer, with RM-Z styling and powered by a long-serving and bullet-proof 199cc four-stroke air-cooled engine

Suzuki has announced a swag of 2015 models over the last few weeks, including an updated KingQuad ATV range, as well as the DR-Z125L, RM-Z450, RM-Z250, RM85 and TU250X in the two-wheel sphere.

The DR200S dual-sport is the latest to make it into the public domain, and now has a number of updates over the old DR200SE, including a new, rounder seat, redesigned fuel tank, and contemporary styling thanks to RM-Z like ergonomics. There is also a new taillight and turn signals.

The engine remains the same, with the 126kg machine pushed along by a 199cc air-cooled four-stroke electric-start mill, which has a Suzuki Composite Electrochemical Material-coated aluminium cylinder for durability, weight reduction and superior heat transfer. The transmission is five speed.

The frame is high-tensile steel pipe frame, and there’s a mix of disc (front) and drum brakes.

The last time a DR200 was solid in Australia was 2004, and Suzuki Australia is still investigating whether to introduce the updated model. However, without ADR certification it will be a problematic issue.
