Triumph has announced two new special editions of the iconic Speed Triple streetfighter – the Speed 94 and Speed 94 R, with the monikers harking back to 1994 when the machine was first born.
Based on the 2015 versions of the Speed Triple (Speed 94) and Speed Triple R (Speed 94 R), both bikes have tribute paint schemes, more blacked-out parts, original Speed Triple typeface decals and commemorative Speed 94 tank plaque. Both bikes are available in black or yellow to match the very first paint schemes, with Australian price and availability yet to be announced. The current Speed Triples retail for $16,990 and $19,990 respectively.
The heart of the Speed 94 is, as it was 21 years ago, is an inline three-cylinder engine, today's 1050cc version producing 133hp (135ps/99kW) at 9400rpm and 111Nm of torque at 7750rpm.
The Speed 94 R has the same engine, but higher-spec Ohlins suspension and monobloc radial brakes. IT is also shod with Pirelli Supercorsa SP tyres.
Accessory highlights include performance-enhancing slip-on silencers and a full three-into-one ‘low boy' exhaust system, developed in conjunction with Arrow Special Parts, while a tyre pressure sensor kit integrates low pressure warnings into the instrument console. A full range of soft luggage and gel comfort seats have also been developed to increase the practicality of the Speed 94 and Speed 94 R.
