Polaris has added the ‘heavy duty’ (HD) suffix to its Ranger 570 side-by-side workhorse, with the up-spec model to go on sale in December 2014.
The 570 HD has been completely redesigned, and includes an engine braking system with 4-Wheel Descent Control (4WDC), which was first seen on the Polaris UTE released early this year.
The Ranger 570 HD also has a HD sway bar, upgraded rear driveshaft, and grease fittings for easier maintenance. Further upgrades over the previous Ranger 570 model include standard electronic power steering, 10 per cent more power, increased ‘Lock & Ride’ accessory compatibility, increased suspension travel and greater cab comfort, including standard tilt steering.
Polaris is also offering seat belt interlock and Speed Key compatibility. The seat belt interlock operates by limiting the top speed of the vehicle to 24km/h when the seatbelt is not engaged, while the Speed Key is a separate key to the vehicle (available as an accessory) which limits the top speed to 40km/h.
At the heart of the Ranger 570 is a 567cc, fuel-injected ProStar engine pushing out 44hp (32.8kw/44.6ps), which has on-demand all-wheel drive. There’s Macpherson strut front and independent rear suspension with 229mm and 254mm travel front and rear, and a 254mm of ground clearance.
There’s a 680kg towing capacity, 227kg rear dump box capacity and 34.1 litres of fuel capacity.
The 2015 Ranger 570 HD will be available in Sunset Red. For more information contact your local Polaris dealer.
