Things are happening fast at the new custodian for MV Agusta in Australia — a Bikesales staffer is on their way to the world launch of the world launch of the Turismo Veloce 800 as we write this — and a machines which was unveiled at the 2014 EICMA motorcycle show in Milan has now gone on sale locally: the Stradale. Price is $19,999 plus on-road costs, with panniers included as standard equipment.
The Stradale uses the latest version of MV's Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System (MVICS), co-ordinating the following ride-by-wire throttle maps: Normal, Sport, Rain or Custom). There are also eight levels of traction control, and other rider aids include a quickshifter, Bosch anti-lock braking and rear wheel lift mitigation. The suspension is a Sachs (shock) and Marzocchi (fork) combo.
The 798cc triple produces 115hp at 11,000rpm and 78.5Nm at 9000rpm.
Elsewhere, the bike’s wheelbase has been extended by 30mm out to 1460mm, with the single-sided swingarm also longer for what MV says is improved traction. The seat is 870mm high, while the front end is equipped with a protective Plexiglas screen which can be adjusted on the fly.
The fuel tank holds 16 litres, while there’s also a hydraulic clutch.
The Stradale 800 is available to order now in Pearl White/Sand Metallic Grey, Red/Silver or Bronze Metallic/Pearl White, all with a two-year unlimited-kilometre warranty and the same period for premium roadside assistance. For more information, see your local MV Agusta dealer.
