KTM’s 2015 EXC range of enduro bikes has been announced, with the blanket updates mainly concentrating on the chassis.
The EXC range is an equal mix of four-strokes -- 250 EXC-F, 350 EXC-F, 450 EXC, 500 EXC and two-strokes -- 125 EXC, 200 EXC, 250 EXC and 300 EXC. In addition, the Six Days range – named after the International Six Days Enduro - is also available with all-round upgrades and specialist PowerParts fitted to the machines for even more performance.
All the 2015 EXCs get a new MAE digital speedometer, which KTM claims is easier to read, and black Neken handlebars with softer grips. There are also new black rims from Giant matched to the CNC-machined hubs, the grey frames have become orange -- normally the domain of the factory KTMs - and there are updated graphics.
The four-strokes get a lighter clutch basket, while individually the 250 gets a taller sixth gear, and the 350, 400 and 500 have updated silencers.
For the two-strokes, there are revised carburetor settings; the 250 has a new power valve setting; the 125 and 200 have a new seal on the PDS shock; and the 200, 250 and 300 have a lighter 3Ah battery. The 250 and 300 have received updates to the electric starters.
Existing componentry on the EXC range includes WP suspension, a lightweight chromoly frame, and Brembo brakes.
The launch of the 2015 EXC range is currently taking place in Sibiu, Romania, which will be the location for the 2014 Red Bull Romaniacs from July 15-19.
