Indian Motorcycle’s launched a new luxury tourer, the Roadmaster, which will make its public debut at the 74th annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally on August 2 and then go on sale locally in November, 2014 for $38,995 rideaway.
Originally produced from 1947-1953, the new-age Roadmaster – which now becomes the fourth model for the rejuvenated American marque -- comes loaded with premium features for comfort, convenience and luxury, including 142 litres of storage capacity.
“It has truly been a privilege and an honour for our team to be a part of motorcycling history in designing and reintroducing the Roadmaster, which has such a legendary reputation as the king of luxury touring bikes,” said Steve Menneto, VP of Motorcycles for Polaris Industries. “The quality, craftsmanship, performance and standard feature set on this bike is simply unmatched in the luxury touring segment, and we look forward to sharing the all-new Roadmaster and other exciting announcements with the global motorcycling community beginning August 2 in Sturgis.”
In addition to the expansive storage, the Roadmaster also offers:
Chrome abounds, and is domiciled on the forks, trim, top box rack, front and rear highway bars and fender tips.
The Roadmaster’s powered by the Thunder Stroke 111 engine, a 49-degree, air-cooled V-twin powerplant mated to a six-speed overdrive transmission.
Liveries are Thunder Black, Indian Motorcycle Red, and a two-colour Indian Motorcycle Red/ Ivory Cream paint scheme.
As well as the unveiling of the Roadmaster at Sturgis, Indian Motorcycle will also be announcing more details on its 2015 range – here’s a preview.
