2015 Husqvarna off-road range

A full line-up of both motocross and enduro bikes in both two- and four-stroke guises, in addition to an 85cc minicross machine. Availability is October, 2014

Less than one year after the ‘new era’ of Husqvarna began following its purchase by KTM boss Stefan Pierer – made official when a new company called ‘Husqvarna Sportmotorcyle GmbH’ was inaugurated – the marque has announced its 2015 off-road line-up.

“When the new era of Husqvarna was announced it was done so with a promise of building a bright future while keeping focused on the brand’s rich heritage and tradition,” said Oliver Göhring, Husqvarna Motorcycles GmbH Managing Director. “Now, one year on – and with a lot of exciting news and updates on the 2015 model range – we are keeping that promise. Husqvarna Motorcycles will continue to keep striding forward. We are building a promising future, ensuring a strong foothold in the market for many years to come.”

The motocross range includes the TC 85, TC 125 and TC 250 two-strokes, and the FC 250, FC 350 and FC 450 four-strokes. The updates include:

  • A new WP 4CS fork specifically designed for motocross with improved damping;
  • A new 22mm front axle to reduce unsprung weight and increase ‘feeling’;
  • A new linkage geometry with optimised rising rate and weight reduction;
  • A new shock with 4mm more stroke;
  • A new clutch basket and springs on the FC 250 and FC 350, which saves weight;
  • A new lighter swingarm on the TC 85;
  • New fork protectors which are easier to replace and maintain;
  • New handguards for better impact resistance;
  • New graphics different from enduro models; and
  • A new Neken handlebar and bar pad

The enduro range – TE 125, TE 250 and TE 300 two-strokes and FE 250 and FE 350 four-strokes – has been updated with the following:

  • A new headlight and mask;
  • The same front fender as the motocross bikes for easier mounting;
  • New CNC-machined triple clamps adapted to new front fender;
  • The advanced WP 4CS closed cartridge front fork with four separate chambers;
  • A new clutch basket and springs on the FE 250 and FE 350, which saves weight;
  • The FE 250 features a longer sixth gear;
  • New carburetor setting on the TE125 for better, smoother power delivery;
  • New power valve and carburetor setting on the TE 250;
  • Shorter gearing on the TE 250 & TE 300 electric starter for better starting; and
  • The TE 250 and TE 300 feature a new, lighter, more efficient 3Ah battery

The 2015 range will go on sale locally from October, 2014.

Meanwhile, there’s still no word from Husqvarna on whether its prototype 701, unveiled at the EICMA international motorcycle show in Milan last year, will see the production light. The 701 has a 690cc single-cylinder four-stroke engine, which produces 75hp. It is harnessed within a lightweight Chromoly steel trellis frame and suspended by the latest WP fork and shock technology. It has the latest Brembo radial brakes.
