Honda's VFR800X Crossrunner has been updated for 2015, with a sharper look, increased power, longer-travel suspension and new wheels and brakes. Other standard features include traction control, an adjustable seat, anti-lock braking, LED lights, self-cancelling indicators and heated grips.
It will go on sale in Australia in January or February next year, with pricing still be announced.
The heart of the machine remains the VTEC-equipped 90-degree 782cc V4, which is now claimed to offer more low and mid-range torque. Peak power is 105hp (78kw) at 10,250rpm.
The aluminium twin-beam frame features a lighter, revised subframe and new aluminium swingarm. Suspension has longer travel: 25mm at the front and 23mm at the rear. The hollow-cast aluminium front wheel is fitted with dual 310mm discs, worked by radial-mount four-piston calipers.
Honda's Selectable Torque Control System (S-TCS) is fitted to the Crossrunner, replication the setup on the CFR1200X Crosstourer. Two levels of traction control are available, and it can also be switched off.
The front end of the Crossrunner is now much more palatable on the eye, with the drab side cowls replaced by smaller and sharper items.
