Ducati has unveiled its first 2015 model in the form of the updated Diavel sports cruiser.
The first major update to the Diavel – which debuted at the EICMA motorcycle show in November 2010 – has focussed on both performance and styling, including an updated engine and exhaust, as well as full LED illumination, a new headlamp cover and mounting, new handlebar riders and new radiator covers. The changes are across the board for the standard Diavel and Diavel Carbon.
The latest generation ride-by-wire Testastretta 11° Dual Spark engine now has even more torque of 130Nm at 8000rpm (up from 127.5Nm), and produces 162hp at 9250rpm (was 9500rpm previously). There’s also traction control, three riding modes and a slipper clutch.
To achieve more torque at a lower rpm, Ducati revised the intake and exhaust ports and readjusted the cam timing.
The massive 58mm exhaust headers lead into new, short slash-cut silencers, which are finished in black for the Diavel and natural brushed stainless steel for the Diavel Carbon.
Major service intervals are now at 30,000km – double the previous mark of 15,000km.
Ducati has now extended the Diavel LED lighting package into the headlamp, while the rear still combines twin vertical strips for tail and brake light illumination, as well as the blinkers. The front indicators are clear lens LED, mounted vertically down the leading edge of the restyled radiator covers.
The livery options are as follows:
