2015 BMW off-road training
Back again this year, with the two-day courses kicking off in mid-April in NSWBMW Motorrad has announced its off-road training calendar for 2015, with more offerings scheduled for around the country.
During the two-day course, participants are taught the fundamental techniques of off-road riding, including:
- Slow-speed manoeuvring and control;
- Correct body position/balance;
- Throttle and clutch control;
- Cornering;
- Braking;
- Ascending and descending hills safely with confidence; and
- Riding over/around obstacles.
Developed for riders who have confidently exceeded the Level 1 program, the Level 2 course, which was first launched last year, is again on offer. Riders need not immediately progress to Level 2 however, with many opting to instead take the Level 1 program on multiple occasions, achieving substantial improvements.

- April 19-20 Mt Seaview / Port Macquarie (Level 2)
- June 20-21 Dargle / Sydney (All Brands - Level 1)
- August 15-16 Dargle (Level 1 and 2)
Vic
- June 6-7 Broadford / Melbourne (All Brands - Level 1)
- Sept 18-21 Broadford / Melbourne (Level 1)
- Sept 18-21 Broadford / Melbourne (Level 2)
Qld
- July 31-August 1 Conondale / Sunshine Coast (Level 1)
- Aug 2-3 Conondale / Sunshine Coast (Level 2)
WA
- Oct 23-24 Kirup (Level 1)
- Oct 25-26 Kirup (Level 2)
Both the Level 1 and Level 2 courses cost $695, which includes lunch, refreshments and a t-shirt.
G 650 GS and G 650 GS Sertaos are available in limited numbers for hire at selected venues, priced at $300.
