We first wrote a yarn about the Yamaha Stryker custom cruiser in September, 2010, but at that stage the all-new bike wasn’t even floating in Yamaha Motor Australia’s orbit. But that could all be changing!
When asked whether the Stryker was back on Yamaha Motor Australia’s orbit, the company’s communications manager Sean Goldhawk said: “We are working on it.”
Let’s do a recap on the Stryker. It’s powered by the 1304cc V-twin mill borrowed from the V-Star XVS1300A, outputting 107Nm of torque with 36mm inlet valves and 32mm exhaust valves. Power is transferred to the rear wheel via belt drive.
The Stryker boasts raked-out front forks with a large 21-inch front wheel, a chunky 210-section rear wheel, dual exhausts, LED brake light, low bars, steel fenders, and a one-piece seat -- the pillion facility highly elevated above the rider’s.
The seat height is 671mm, and wet weight is 293kg.
We’ll keep you posted on Yamaha’s plans for the Stryker.
