Kawasaki’s updated Ninja 1000 is now on sale for $16,999 plus on-road costs.

Like its predecessor, the 2014 Ninja 1000’s in-line, four-cylinder engine is wrapped in a full-fairing, but the versatility has now been enhanced with three-mode traction control and selectable power modes (full and low).

Other changes include:

  • More power and torque
  • Enhanced intake note
  • New remote preload adjuster
  • New integrated panniers (optional accessory)

Weight is 231kg, and Kawasaki claims 140hp (104.5kW) at 10,000rpm from the 1043cc 16-valve powerplant. Seat height is 790mm.

The bike is available now in Candy Lime Green or Metallic Graphite Grey.
