2014 Honda CTX1300?

The model name was recently leaked on a Japanese blog site, and now it appears the machine is nearly ready to be unveiled, complete with a V-four engine

With bodywork closely resembling that of the smaller CTX700 – with a pinch of F6B of thrown into the mix – Honda appears set to be on the verge of unveiling the big-bore CTX1300 cruiser, with the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan in early November the obvious release point.

The attached image of the bike – purportedly during a promotional shoot -- shows a transverse V-four engine, which indicates that Honda may have utilised the powerplant out of the CT1300. And it makes sense as well: not only would the torquey nature of the 1261cc powerplant be a perfect fit for the relaxed CTX ‘business model’, but the company doesn’t have to go through the extremely costly process of developing a new engine.

The bike, at least in the current pre-release guise, has hard luggage, pulled-back handlebars, a large one-piece seat for rider and pillion, and a sharper-looking front end than the CTX700.

A dual clutch transmission? We’ll have to wait and see.
