Honda Australia has unveiled a few updates to its standard CBR1000RR Fireblade, which in 2014 will be sold alongside the sportier CBR1000RR SP.
Due to grace Australian shores in March 2014 – the same month as the SP -- the CBR1000RR now has a revised cylinder head, with the inlet and exhaust ports reshaped and polished, while the company’s PGM fuel injection has been remapped to match the revised cylinder head and up-rated power and torque output.
Price will be $16,899, and $17,899 for the anti-lock braking version.
The CBR1000RR’s diecast twin-spar aluminium frame, 43mm inverted Showa Big Piston Fork and rear shock remain unchanged for 2014, but one part of the chassis mix has been altered: the footpegs, which are now set 10mm further back based on “customer feedback”. The handlebars are also wider.
