Erik Buell Racing (EBR) has launched its first real production machine -- the 1190RX, which bears the DNA of the marque’s limited-edition 1190RS superbike.
“This is the culmination of decades of dedication, innovation and teamwork,” said EBR founder Erik Buell. “We have been working to create a pure rider’s machine and a true world brand.
“From the heartland and the heart of America, these are extraordinary motorcycles that discerning riders everywhere will be passionate to own.”
The RX has the same 72-degree, liquid-cooled 1190cc V-twin as the RS, producing peak power and torque of 185hp and 138Nm respectively.
The rake and trail are 22.4 degrees and 96.5tmm; it has Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa 17-inch rubber; the suspension is by Showa; wet weight is 190kg; and the frame and swingarm are aluminium.
The front disc is a massive 386mm, and the rear is 220mm.
The Australian importer for EBR, Urban Moto Imports, has confirmed the RX “is coming” but a specific time frame hasn’t yet been enunciated.
‘AS’ and ‘SX’ models are also in the pipeline for EBR, with Streetfighter and adventure slants.
