2014 Ducati 1199 Superleggera

Just 500 examples of the super exclusive superbike will be made, with a dry weight of just 155kg and a super impressive power-to-weight ratio

Ducati has unveiled the highly exclusive 1199 Superleggera.

The new machine combines a cocktail of materials such as titanium, magnesium and carbon fibre in what Ducati claims is the best power-to-weight ratio of any production motorcycle. The bike produces more than 200hp and its dry weight is 155kg.

The 1199 Superleggera will be offered first to owners of the Desmosedici RR or R version Superbikes, giving them the right of first refusal to purchase the new model. Currently, 75 per cent of the 500 examples have already been sold.

The 1199 Superleggera will be displayed on the Ducati stand of the EICMA Motorcycle Show in Milan, Italy from November 7-10.
