2013 Victory Boardwalk

Direct opposition for the Harley-Davidson Softail Deluxe, blending modern and classic styling touches and on its way to Australia in limited numbers

Sticking impeccably to its one new model every six months timetable, Victory Motorcycles has unveiled the 2013 model Boardwalk cruiser, powered by the company’s 106 cubic inch Freedom V-twin.

Set to go up against the Harley-Davidson Softail Deluxe, the Boardwalk has traditional full fenders, 18-inch 60-spoke laced wheels with whitewall tyres, chrome beach bars, a removable passenger seat, and footboards are part of the forward-mount controls.

There are pinches of chrome on the engine covers, exhaust and trim, but otherwise the Boardwalk has a ‘minimalist’ flavour – but as is the current rage that doesn’t make it any less desirable.

The Freedom engine includes a six-speed overdrive, and torque is 149Nm.

The Country Manager for Victory Motorcycles in Australia, Peter Harvey, confirmed to the Bikesales Network that the Boardwalk will be coming to Australia but timing is not yet confirmed. But there is an expectation that it will be late in 2012, but in limited numbers only.

Price is still to be announced, but expect something at the lower range of the Victory scale.
